ZAGO Unifeed AVM-Vertical “Tornado” Mixing System
The ZAGO Unifeed AVM Series TMR mixers are equipped with the “Tornado” vertical mixing auger.
Trailed and stationary AVM Series (Antares Vertical Mixer) is available in mixing chamber volumes from 1.5 to 44 m3.
Self-propelled AVM Wolf Avant series has capacities from 13-33 m3
The vertical mixing system is characterized by the movement of one or more vertical augers with a constant spiral pitch. A series of progressive profile sickle blades are mounted at the ends of the augers.
Thanks to the particular shape of the ZAGO’s vertical “Tornado” auger, the product is pushed upwards, creating a continuous tornado-like flow along the hopper walls. The advantages of “vertical mixing” are the simplification of the cut and a significant reduction in feed compaction compared to traditional systems manufactured in the 1980s.
Zago’s consolidated experience has led to the perfection of the vertical mixer system that provides shorter mixing times.
The unique “TORNADO” auger equipped with specially shaped blades is driven by a heavy-duty angular gearbox. These robust components and the auger design ensure the processing of whole bales of straw, hay and forage, and their mixing with other ingredients. The high rotational speed of the auger and the large adjustable counter knives provide an efficient mixing process.
